Kwara Camp

Kwara Concession, northern Okavango Delta

Kwara Camp is set overlooking a secluded lagoon in the northern Okavango Delta in a region offers a contrasting experience, as its location allows access to the permanent waterways of the Delta as well as expansive dry land areas, admired for their quality game viewing.

The camp accommodates a maximum of 16 guests in eight traditionally styled tents on raised decks, each offering superb views of the lagoon. Towering African ebony and mangosteen trees ensure that the camp is always cool while the hundreds of birds add to the feeling of serenity in one of the Okavango’s best kept secrets.

Kwara Camp is in the heart of the Okavango Delta in an area of permanent water adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve and offers 8 en-suite tents with inside/outside showers and a honeymoon tent with a bath. The camp offers 5 activities all year round – walks, game drives, fishing, boat cruises and mekoro trips with game drives taking place off road and at night with both a guide and tracker.

Set in an exclusive concession the camp offers a wide variety of activities. In addition to game drives, both day and night, the camp offers game walks and mokoro trips, as well as power boating and seasonal fishing (spinning equipment is provided but fly fisherman need to bring their own equipment).

classic game viewing

The Kwara Concession is particularly well known for wild dog, although lions, leopard and Cheetah are also found here. With both floodplains and a dry hinterland the concession is well equipped for a wide variety of antelope. Plentiful game is found in the dry hinterland with impala, tsessebe, kudu and giraffe common. Open areas support Zebra and wildebeest along with buffalo and the closer bush steenbok and bushbuck. Red lechwe graze the floodplains.
