Little Kwara

Kwara Concession, northern Okavango Delta

Situated adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve this exclusive camp is located within the game rich Kwara concession, which borders the Moremi Game Reserve on the northern edge of the Okavango Delta.

Little Kwara is an intimate camp, accommodating no more than ten guests, and is consistent with Kwando Safaris promise to provide comfortable and authentic camps with personal service – vintage Africa.

Similar to Kwara, Little Kwara is known for its consistent sightings of predators. Herds of elephants also frequent the area, as well as giraffe, zebra, sitatunga, lechwe, impala and hippos. Wild dogs have also been seen in the concession although less frequently than the northern camps. Little Kwara offers all the activities one expects in an exclusive concession in the Okavango Delta – day and night drives, game walks, power boating, mokoro trips and fishing (The camp provides basic spinning tackle, but fly fishermen need to bring their equipment).

classic game viewing

The Kwara Concession is particularly well known for wild dog, although lions, leopard and Cheetah are also found here. With both floodplains and a dry hinterland the concession is well equipped for a wide variety of antelope. Plentiful game is found in the dry hinterland with impala, tsessebe, kudu and giraffe common. Open areas support Zebra and wildebeest along with buffalo and the closer bush steenbok and bushbuck. Red lechwe graze the floodplains.
