Sango Safari Camp

Sango Safari Camp is a classic safari tented camp nestled in the shade of the trees overlooking the Khwai River. Situated on the outskirts of the traditional village of Khwai and on the border of Moremi Game Reserve, the camp offers guests the a good affordable base from which to explore the wildlife and culture of this unique habitat well known for its good game viewing.

Accommodating 12 guests in six en-suite meru tents Sango Safari Camp is designed in the style of the classic tented safari camp of days gone by. With its open-air bucket showers, hand crafted furnishings and classic styling Sango Safari Camp aims to rekindle the atmosphere of the luxury mobile safari camp from its pretty permanent setting.

With a combination of permanent water, seasonal floodplains, open grasslands, riverine forests, and dry woodlands this incredibly rich habitat supports a diversity and abundance of mammals and birds rarely matched in the Okavango Delta. Sango Safari Camp invites you to share in this bounty. All activities are subject to seasonal availability and weather conditions. Walking and mokoro activities may be limited in the wet season due to dense vegetation. Self drive guests must pre-book all activities and meals before travel.

This intimate safari camp is named after the Sango Family – some of the original inhabitants of the Khwai area, and now part-owners of the camp. Guests will have the chance to learn first-hand about the unique lifestyle and experiences that come from living and growing up in one of the most wildlife rich areas of Botswana.

Pelo Camp

Pelo Camp, meaning ‘heart’, takes its name from the distinct heart-shaped island located within the Jao Concession on which it is built. Pelo is a rustic camp offering a remote, genuine and adventurous safari experience. Situated deep in the Okavango Delta and lying in a true wetland area, Pelo Camp is operational between 01 March and November every year. Hyena Pan Camp

Situated within a majestic cathedral of mopane trees, Hyena Pan Camp overlooks a watering hole deep within the Khwai Private Reserve, a 200 000 hectare conservancy on the northern border of the Moremi Game Reserve. Hyena Pan is a rustic but comfortable camp with a friendly atmosphere offering an affordable safari experience. Best experienced in the dry season when the waterhole attracts huge numbers of elephants and other animals. The photo hide is a great experience.
