Little Mombo is situated in Africa’s premier game viewing area, Chief’s Island in the Moremi Game Reserve. This area is known for its huge concentrations of both general game and predators. The camp is perfect for small groups with only three rooms and allows guests to explore this prolific wildlife area in considerable comfort.
This is one of Africa’s finest safari camps and considerable effort has been put into crafting accommodation and facilities which befit the magnificent location. Rooms at Little Mombo are vast and luxurious, all overlooking the Okavango Delta, and include ensuite bathrooms with outdoor showers and sala’s (pavilions) allowing a refuge from the afternoon sun. First class cuisine rounds off the safari experience at this impressive property.
Sharing an island with Mombo Camp, Little Mombo overlooks a rich floodplain with magnificent views over the Okavango Delta. These rich floodplains are home to large numbers of general game attracting considerable predator interest with lions and leopards routinely seen on game drives and occasionally from the camp itself.
Game drives at Little Mombo take advantage of the prolific wildlife of the area and allow guests to see huge herds of plains game as well as great predator interaction. Chief’s Island has recently seen both black and white rhino reintroduced and this is one of the only areas in Botswana where these magnificent beasts can be seen in their natural habitat. Game drives are conducted by Land Rovers accommodating at most seven guests, allowing each guest an uninterrupted view from their seat. It should be noted that as Little Mombo is in the Moremi Game Reserve, night drives are not possible at Little Mombo.
Little Mombo benefits from having a hide some twenty minutes from camp. This allows guests to spend time simply observing wildlife from a comfortable and well equipped vantage point and is ideal for photography.
