Mombo Trails Camp
The latest addition to Mombo, the legendary place of plenty.
The Mombo Concession, on Chief’s Island and in the Moremi Game Reserve, is regarded as one of Africa’s legendary safari destinations. Within this concession Mombo Trails Camp is a temporary camp, a nostalgic look back at Wilderness Safaris roots, constructed for the complete rebuild of Mombo and Little Mombo Camps.
Located just two kilometers north-west of Mombo Camp, Mombo Trails Camp overlooks the same great grassy expanse of the Mombo floodplain as the main camp. This fertile floodplain attracts large concentrations of game, a fantastic backdrop to your safari experience.
Shaded beneath the canopy of a jackalberry grove, the main area comprises a dining area, bar and lounge as well as a campfire around which guests relax and discuss the day’s sightings. These main areas are raised on wooden decks taking full advantage of the surrounding scenery.
The tents are also raised and furnished and equipped to a high standard. The interiors capture Mombo Trails Camp’s link to Mombo and Little Mombo Camps and provide a nostalgic study of these two legendary camps. Tents have en-suite bathrooms with thermodynamic solar panels providing heating for the shower. A small lounge provides space to relax.
Game drives are the order of the day at Mombo Trails Camp and explore this exceedingly rich game environment with productive herds of herbivores followed closely by numerous and diverse predators. Frequent sightings include lion and leopard. Guests also have access to a hide twenty minutes from camp.
