Situated on the 26,180 hectare Qorokwe Concession, Qorokwe is Wilderness Safaris latest offering
Qorokwe Camp in the south-eastern Okavango Delta will open in December 2017. The exclusive traversing Qorokwe Concession (26 180 hectares), unutilised for more than four years, reveals a world of diverse delta habitats, from scattered acacia woodlands with herds of giraffe, zebra and abundant plains game to pristine floodplains, home to curious red lechwe and gnarled buffalo bulls. Then there’s the local lion pride, as well as large number of elephant – all a feature of this classic Okavango Delta setting.
Qorokwe Camp consists of eight tented suites and one spacious family tented suite with its own splash pool. En-suite facilities feature an indoor/outdoor shower. The magnificent main area overlooks a productive lagoon and the dining area, lounge, library and bar are built on raised wooden platforms, connected by walkways.
Guests will enjoy game drives on open 4×4 Land Cruisers to view the wealth of wildlife by day. Night game drives produce exciting nocturnal sightings of civet, genet and bushbabies, as well as owls and even leopard. Explore the waters by boat or mokoro – your guide will reveal the secrets of living in the delta while you look out for tiny frogs and malachite kingfishers. Nature walks and birdwatching complete the viewing spectrum.
