4 Rivers

Opened in 2023, 4 Rivers is an exciting new safari camp on the famous Kwara Reserve - one of the most exclusive and game rich areas of the Okavango Delta. Tucked away in a remote corner of a vast 175,000 hectare private reserve, 4 Rivers is a classic Okavango tented camp offering a range of exciting safari activities in a peaceful setting. Overlooking a beautiful permanent lagoon in a fantastic wildlife area this new camp from Kwando Safaris is sure to become of the most popular in the Delta.

Located in the western corner of the famous Kwara Reserve overlooking Maboa Island, 4 Rivers camp offers an affordable base from which to enjoy some of the finest game viewing in Botswana. Activities include morning, afternoon and evening game drives, walking safaris and seasonal water activities-  mokoro trips when water levels permit. As with the other Kwando Safari camps, each open 4×4 game vehicle at Kwando 4 Rivers will feature a tracker as well as a guide, offering twice as many expert eyes searching for those special sightings.

The Kwara reserve has earned a reputation for delivering interesting, exciting and varied game viewing year-round thanks to its prime location. The Kwara reserve borders the northern section of the Moremi Game Reserve, with no fences the wildlife roams freely between the two reserves. Thanks to the wonderfully varied eco-systems found on the reserve, guests at 4 Rivers Camp can expect extremely interesting wildlife sightings to suit all interests. Incredibly rich and varied environments are found across the vast Kwara reserve – from wooded islands and rich floodplains to open savannah and pretty waterways – offering a spectacular range of habitats to support a variety of wildlife.

The 4 Rivers camp, by Kwando Safaris, has a traditional Okavango style, with tented rooms on raised wooden decks and lovely views of the Delta. There are nine tented rooms, including a family tent, accommodating a maximum of 20 people at any time ensuring a quiet safari experience. The heart of 4 Rivers camp consists of a number of intimate spaces linked together to form comfortable dining, lounge, bar and other areas for guests to relax between activities.  There is also a swimming pool to cool down in the warmer months.

Kwando Safaris, who own and operate 4 Rivers Camp, have earned a reputation for delivering serious safaris in Botswana – for those whose focus is on the safari experience and not on the trappings of luxury in camp. While their camps are very comfortable and the food and service of a good standard, the luxury of a Kwando safari has always been the prime location and high level of guiding – and a dedication to rich sightings- setting off early to catch the best possible wildlife sightings. We are confident Four Rivers will soon prove itself to be just as popular as its sister camps for those looking for a fantastic and well balanced safari experience in Botswana.
