Gray’s Eden is a new luxury boutique hotel in Maun offering the perfect beginning or end to any safari itinerary. Located on the seasonal Thamalakane River just 10 minutes from Maun Airport, the hotel offers a quiet and intimate retreat with a focus on impeccable service. Set to open in July 2024, Grays Eden will feature Maun's first wine cellar and promises to showcase food and beverage as a key component of its appeal.

Grays Eden will be the latest addition to Ker & Downey Botswana’s product offering, combining well with their safari camps. The inspiration for the new luxury boutique hotel was to fill the gap for quality town-based accommodation, offering a unique and tranquil experience for visitors to Maun and the gateway to the Okavango Delta.

The boutique hotel will comprise of 12 thatched rooms; 5 luxurious villas and 7 more simple yet comfortable cottages all offering outdoor verandas and spacious living areas.

Pining for a refined wine and dine experience in Maun, owners Sandrine and Sam’s vision for the hotel started with the construction of their unique ‘Cliff Wine Cellar’, built into the rock face separating the lower and upper levels of the property. From here the idea for a polished yet intimate restaurant, breakfast bar, separate lounges and library took flight – all opening onto lush lawns overlooking the seasonal Thamalakane River. Grays Eden will offer everything from wine tastings to refined traditional and international dishes as well as picnic lunches – all designed and brought to life by a fantastic team of chefs and sommeliers.

Beautifully designed with comfortable loungers and shaded tables, the hotel’s central pool area overlooking the gardens and restaurant below will offer another attractive spot for guests to relax. Spa treatments will also be available at their laid-back spa or in the comfort of the villas.

Blending the crisp white exteriors evocative of a wine estate with furnishings and decor that pay homage to Maun’s safari town spirit, Grays Eden promises a sumptuous accommodation experience.
