Ngoma Safari Lodge

Ngoma Safari Lodge is set within the peaceful Chobe Forest Reserve, just 3km from Chobe National Park – with its infinite views over Chobe’s seasonal floodplains. A sanctuary away from the Kasane crowds, this small luxury lodge bears witness to the prolific game found along Chobe’s riverfront from its rocky height along the escarpment. Ngoma Safari Lodge offers a range of activities including game drives within Chobe National Park, boat cruises and night drives within the Forest Reserve.

Ngoma Safari Lodge has eight luxury river-facing suites located on a private concession within the Chobe Forest Reserve. Perched on the fringe of a plateau the views are some of the best in Chobe, certainly the sunset views are amount the best to be found in Botswana. The entire lodge has been built to make the most of these views, the open sided main areas allow you to soak up the Chobe river and plains over your meals, drinks and while swimming. Aimed at adults rather than families this is a peaceful Chobe lodge, ideal for couples or solo travellers.

All of the eight luxury suites face the river and floor-to-ceiling glass windows ensure this amazing view can be enjoyed at all times. Each room has air-conditioning and wifi and indoor and outdoor showers. A private patio offers a private peaceful spot to relax between activities and includes a private plunge pool.

During warmer summer evenings, the main wooden decks are the perfect setting for outside dining. A refreshing plunge pool is set amongst rocks and guests are welcome to take advantage of the conveniently placed sun loungers that surround it.

Professional guides arrange flexible activities to suit your daily safari preferences. Morning game drives – especially in the drier months from May to October – yield large game densities. For guests wishing to enjoy the Chobe in its quieter season with fewer crowds of people, it is best to reserve your Ngoma safari between November and April. Game species common to the area include huge herds of elephant, water-dependant buffalo, giraffe, hippo, crocodile, lion, leopard, sable, various antelope as well as migratory herds of Zebra travelling from the Angola Basin area. White rhino re-introduced back into the private areas of the park in 2001, have a slow but steadily increasing population.

Ngoma Safari Lodge also full day safaris can be arranged within Chobe National Park and include boat cruises, game drives within the park itself and an enticing bush picnic. Over 450 bird species can be ticked off the avid birdwatchers’ lists and night drives within the Chobe Forest Reserve’s private concession introduce guests to nocturnal animals not normally seen during the day; hyaenas, African Wild Cats, bush-babies and honey badgers just to name a few.

Catering for children over 12 years of age this boutique lodge is aimed at adults who wish to enjoy a few days of relaxation and excellent cuisine combined with some of the infamous Chobe game viewing.
