North Island Okavango

North Island Okavango is one of the newest and most exclusive luxury safari camps in the Okavango Delta. This luxurious new safari camp lies on a remote private island in a particularly pretty and game rich concession of the Okavango. Nestled within a network of shimmering lagoons and water channels, North Island Okavango camp offers a luxurious based form which to enjoy a fantastic range of safari experiences including hot air ballooning.

North Island Okavango is one of Botswana’s most exclusive camps. With just three guest tents set on this idyllic island it offers an intimate safari experience, the perfect wilderness retreat. North Island Okavango boasts a superb range of activities including hot air ballooning, 4×4 game drives, boating and mokoro trips. Scenic helicopter flights can also be arranged.

North Island Okavango will be a premier luxury camp and guests can expect a high standard of comfort, luxury and service to match those of the top camps in the region. The camp is being designed with a sophisticated and yet comfortable style. The camp itself is enveloped by a striking cathedral of trees (such as leadwood , fig, ebony, mangosteen and rain trees) creating an intimate atmosphere.

The guest tests at North Island Okavango are extremely spacious – offering 140 square meters of inside and outside floor space to relax and indulge in. Each tents features a private plunge pool and sunken sundeck with wonderful views of the the Okavango – the perfect place to relax between activities. The design covers all creature comforts, with a fireplace and air-conditioning available as well as wifi.

North Island Okavango is situated on a beautiful semi-private concession on the northern fringes of the Okavango Delta, an area known as NG23A, just north west of Duba Plains and Vumbura- iconic Okavango Camps which are well known for their superb game – and we expect the same exciting game viewing to be enjoyed here. Due to the location of the camp, amounts the glistening waterways of the Okavango, North Island Okavango offers water activities almost all year round.

Opening in June 2023, North Island Okavango is the latest camp from the pioneering safari operators Natural Selection, whose portfolio includes some of Botswana’s most iconic camps including Jack’s Camp and Tuludi– and indeed a visit to those camps as part of a wider itinerary is certainly recommended. The camps are designed to complement each other as part of a Botswana tour.

Tuludi Camp

Tuludi is one of the newest luxury camps in the Okavango, with tree-house style rooms shaded by magnificent leadwood trees and each with its own private plunge pool. There is even a treehouse library four metres up in the boughs. The location is glorious: a waterhole attracts wildlife right outside camp and the surrounds include seasonal floodplains, lily-covered lagoons and the mighty Khwai river. The area hosts large herds of elephant and buffalo and impressive concentrations of predators.
