Pom Pom Camp

Long established Pom Pom Camp is a charming camp set on the scenic island of Pom Pom in a private concession at the head waters of the Xudum river system. Lying on the western boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve the game viewing in this pretty area is varied and interesting, enjoyed through a variety of land and water activities. A traditional, comfortable and friendly camp, Pom Pom is an old favourite in the Okavango.

Pom Pom camp has a picturesque setting, with nine luxury safari tents set under the shade of the surrounding trees overlooking the lily peppered, and hippos inhabited, Pom Pom lagoon. The landscapes in this concession are particularly scenic and are home to a wide range of wildlife, with big game and birding both very good, this is a fantastic all round safari option.

The spacious tented rooms have a true traditional safari style, and all with full en-suite semi open bathrooms. One family safari tent that can accommodate four with en-suite facilities and close proximity to the main lodge. Each tent features a private outside deck with chair and tables where guests can watch the wildlife come and go from the lagoon. Inside the tent is a lounge area with sofa and writing desk and a separate sleeping area, ensuring guests have plenty of space to spread-out during the siesta hours. At the back of the tent are the semi-open bathrooms, open to the skies.

The main building is constructed of thatch and canvas and comprises a lounge, dining, bar and pool areas, as well as a gift shop and the boma area. The swimming pool is situated close to the main lodge and the bar, making a perfect location to enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the heat of the day.

Pom Pom is one of the camps in the Okavango Delta that is able to offer game drives within the private concession area. Morning and evening game drives in the company of our qualified guides will give you the opportunity to view all the big game and night life of this environment.

A mokoro trip is a fantastic way to experience the wonders of the Okavango Delta. In the company of a professional poler with vast experience of the Okavango Delta, you will be able to enjoy the sights and sounds of this unique habitat and learn about the waterways and wildlife.

Fishing is also possible at Pom Pom, and guides will be happy to take you to their secret spots to try for Pike and a variety of Bream species.
