Saguni Safari Lodge overlooks the pretty Mbudi Lagoon on the fringes of Khwai village. Saguni has 9 forest tents nestled below the canopy of trees and 8 luxury river tents overlooking the Sable River. The tents feature fans, private viewing decks and an en-suite bathroom with indoor showers.

An elevated bar area and swimming pool are available for guests to enjoy during hours of relaxation in between exciting camp activities.

Early morning game drives, amid the sounds and smells of the awakening bushveld yield animal sightings such as elephant, buffalo, hippo and giraffe. Predators in this area include lion, leopard, hyaena as well as the plains-loving cheetah. Open vehicle photographic safaris supply ample opportunity for keen photographers to capture that perfect elusive image.

In the afternoon, guests are invited to discover the fascinating Mbudi water channels of Khwai -also referred to as the beautiful Sable Alley system of the Khwai river. A mokoro safari is a tranquil way of exploring the wilderness, permitting guests to see the smaller and less evident creatures such as the painted reed frogs balanced on the end of reed stalks, basking crocodile on the banks and a myriad of Botswana birdlife. Night drives are a highlight at Saguni Safari Lodge. As the sun goes down, nocturnal creatures come out to play – and the African bush takes on a whole new atmosphere. Predatory owls, cackling hyaena, howling black-backed jackal and scavenging honey badgers and porcupines are just some of the species you may encounter on these evening adventures

Saguni Safari Lodge is located on the fringe of a traditional Khwai village. Visits to the village are organised for guests, showcasing the cultural heritage of communities in the area, and the education of the younger generation through their cultural practices. ‘’Saguni’’ – the bushman name for Khwai – refers to an area with an abundance of game and spectacular sightings.

An open fire pit under the stars at the edge of the lagoon is a perfect setting for sundowners or after-dinner drinks. The shady deck includes a comfortable and simply arranged outdoor area and dining space. Occasionally guests are treated to a meal in the middle of the Okavango bush complete with delicious cuisine, full table settings and professional lodge staff. Dinner at camp is a social event with buffet-style main courses using the freshest ingredients followed by plated starters and desserts
