The Great Plains collection of safari camps continues to grow with Selinda Pioneers Camp, due to open in 2021. Selinda Pioneers Camp will redevelop the site of Motswiri camp, which closed in December 2019. With Great Plains’ track record of excellent camps together with a beautiful location on the Selinda Spillway and interesting game viewing, Selinda Pioneers Camp is sure to become a popular camp.
Great Plains are behind some of the finest camps in Botswana, including Duba Plains, Selinda Camp and Zarafa Camp which are also some of the most luxurious in Botswana. Their portfolio is varied, Great Plains also offer less luxurious but equally charming camps such as Selinda Explorers and Duba Explorers – as yet the style and level of luxury of this latest camp has not yet been determined but given Great Plains’ success in operating camps at all levels, and knowing this location, we are confident this latest camp will prove just as successful.
Selinda Pioneers Camp will stand in a remote corner of the Selinda Reserve, a vast and beautiful protected area between the Okavango Delta and Kwando/Linyanti river systems. The Selina Spillway occasionally links these two river systems and runs like the main artery through the reserve. When the spillway flows the game viewing is particularly wonderful, especially in the dry months from May-October.
The landscape lends itself to a variety of activities with a variety of land and water environments – from deep flowing channels to lily covered wetlands open plains and forests. The wildlife here is varied and interesting. In the past land and water activities of all kinds have been conducted here, we hope this exciting range of activities will continue. Further details will follow when available.
At Okavango Delta Explorations we specialise in crafting safaris to this unique ecosystem.
