Tongabezi is a much loved haven of peace on the banks of the Zambezi River in Zambia. This owner-run boutique hotel has plenty of character and impressive attention to detail. Five River cottages and six magnificently decorated ‘’houses’’ rest in this secluded location amongst dense riverine vegetation. The open-sided, eco-friendly main lodge consists of a dining area with long dining table as the focal point and a comfortable lounge area with a tea and coffee station .A spacious wooden deck jutting out over the river is the perfect platform to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner and you have the option to indulge in an alfresco dining experience at a multitude of locations around the lodge property. A complimentary laundry service and gym facilities are available for guests’ use.

The popular Lookout – a lounge- type structure with multi-level platforms – has been constructed over the river and houses a computer room with Wi-Fi for those guests requiring this service. Private dinners can be arranged here with splendid views over the Zambezi. A TV Room and bar area invite guests to socialize and share their safari experiences.

A perfectly placed firepit close to the water’s edge adds to the African Lodge ambience and a rock-set swimming pool with waterfall completes this idyllic setting. Soul soothing Spa treatments are on offer at the Tongabezi spa facility.

The air-conditioned rooms and houses are secluded and lead off the main area from natural pathways. The room décor -different for each suite- is a combination of high- quality art and exotic textiles from countries such as Morocco, Mali and Zambia.
