Zarafa Dhow Suite

The Zarafa Dhow Suite offers one of the most exclusive and luxurious safari experiences in Africa, a stunning two bedrooom suite complete with private guide, chef and butler. The suite has a stunning position overlooking the Zibadianja Lagoon on the vast and beautiful Selinda Resereve in northern Botswana, with superb game viewing. Situated next to Zarafa Camp, Botswana’s first and only Relais & Chateaux property, this is the ultimate safari experience.

The Zarafa Dhow Suite is palatial – with 210 square metre (2,260 square foot) villa built on a raised deck under a billowing canvas – and breath taking views from the private deck complete with private pool. Two large bedroom with open plan layouts lie either side of a central lounge and dining area. The style is incredibly elegant – teeming the innate romantic atmosphere of safari with the spirit off the original adventurers. Thoughtful and spoiling touches are present throughout the Zarafa Dhow Suite. Copper bathtbs, fire pits and even an exercise bike to work up an appetite between fine dining.

Immense herds of Elephant and Buffalo, especially in the drier winter months (May-Sept) occur here, as well as Giraffe (the camp is named after the giraffe given to Charles X of France in 1826 by the Viceroy of Egypt and means “The Beloved one” in Arabic), Zebra, Wildebeest, Kudu, Warthog, Impala and the rare Roan Antelope may be found. With such strong populations of these animals, key predator species are always close by including: Lion, Leopard, African Wild Dog and sometimes Cheetah.
