Sanctuary Retreats have announced a major refurbishment of Chief’s Camp. The refurbishment will focus on the accommodation and be conducted between 9th January and 31st May 2016, during which period the camp will be closed.
This major investment will see the 12 pavilions being completely rebuilt, increasing in size from 51 m2 to 141 m2. Furnished with handmade furniture and cooled by both air conditioning and fans, these new pavilions will focus guests on the magnificent Okavango Delta with plunge pools and private dining areas overlooking the delta’s flood plains. In the same way new bathrooms will include spacious outdoor showers, a large bath tubs and beautiful floor to ceiling windows with folding glass doors.
Along with the accommodation, public areas will be refurbished in the ‘Safari Chic’ style with a completely redesigned bar and library area. There will be extensions to the dining room along with a new pizza deck complete with pizza oven. Guests will be able to learn more about the unique Okavango Delta in an orientation room. A children’s play area and gym will also be added.
Chief’s Camp is situate in the renowned Mombo Concession on Chief’s island, an area known as the ‘predator capital of Africa’.
