Wilderness Safaris Camps In the Okavango Delta

Wilderness Safaris is one of Africa’s largest and best known safari brands. The company was established over 27 years ago and operates camps and safaris in Botswana, Namibia, Malawi, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and the Seychelles.

Wilderness Safaris was founded in Botswana in 1983 by a group of wildlife enthusiasts as a mobile safari operator. The company has grown beyond recognition, listing on the Botswana Stock Exchange in 2010, but has ensured that the original enthusiasm for wildlife remains at the fore of what the company does today.

The largest and most respected ecotourism operator in Africa, Wilderness Safaris offers access to nearly three million hectares (seven million acres) of perhaps the finest wilderness areas in Africa. With operations spread over eight African countries, Botswana, Congo (Brazzaville), Kenya, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe, Wilderness Safaris’ reach is unparalleled. Providing wildlife, marine and cultural safaris in pristine wilderness locations Wilderness Safaris’ safaris are specialised, educational and above all fun.

In Botswana, Wilderness Safaris operates some of the finest camps and lodges in Africa, including the renowned Mombo Camp on Chief’s Island in the Okavango Delta. With a fulsome portfolio encompassing all of the country’s ecosystems, a safari with Wilderness Safaris allows the visitor to see Botswana at its best with properties in the Kalahari, Linyanti and most importantly the Okavango Delta. Wilderness Safaris offers the full spectrum of safari experiences from mokoro excursions, game drives, motor boat trips, walking safaris to their renowned elephant interactions at Abu Camp deep in the Okavango Delta.

With an emphasis on hospitality and professional high standards, Wilderness Safaris has a particular reputation for excellent guides with considerable investment in guide training throughout a guide’s career.

The Wilderness Safaris brand covers camps and lodges in the Premier, Classic, Adventure and Collection groupings, but all offer the same enthusiastic and professional service.

A fully integrated charter operator, Wilderness Air, ensures that air transport between camps, is to the same high standards to which guests become accustomed to whilst staying at Wilderness Safaris’ camps. The company benefits from an excellent logistics base in Maun allowing first rate support for Wilderness Safaris’ operations deep in the Okavango Delta.
