Land Focused Properties

The Okavango Delta is not just about the waterways with some of Africa’s best land based wildlife found on the floodplains and islands of this idyllic eden

With its crystal clear streams one can often forget that the Okavango Delta is not just about aquatic life. The fertile floodplains and islands of the delta are home to some of the best game viewing in Africa. Plains animals are drawn to the delta’s life giving waters and rich grasslands, closely followed by predators.

Activities at land focused camps and lodges are primarily vehicle borne, with some walking permitted in the private concessions. While water is often a welcome aspect of the landscape around these camps, activities are not offered as the conditions are not suitable for activities.

Some of Botswana’s most famous camps are set in rich game areas with only 4×4 game drives offered, such as Mombo Camp and Sandibe Camp. A land based camp usually offers excellent game viewing and combined with a water or combination camp offers a comprehensive safari experience.
