Mostly set in the vast private concessions which surround the Moremi Game Reserve, these Okavango camps offer a variety of land and water activities for a comprehensive Okavango experience. A combination of 4×4 game drives, walking, mokoro and boating safaris are offered.

Moela Safari Lodge

The Old House

The location is glorious: a waterhole attracts wildlife right outside camp and the surrounds include seasonal floodplains, lily-covered lagoons and the mighty Khwai river. Bush Ways Safaris Fully Serviced Camp
Bush Ways Safaris run two set departure groups tours with their fully serviced mobile safari camp - the northbound safari and the southbound safari exploring the Okavango, Savute and Chobe riverfront. Pom Pom Camp
Long established Pom Pom Camp is a charming camp set on the scenic island of Pom Pom in a private concession at the head waters of the Xudum river system. Lying on the western boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve the game viewing in this pretty area is varied and interesting, enjoyed through a variety of land and water activities. A traditional, comfortable and friendly camp, Pom Pom is an old favourite in the Okavango.
Thamalakane River Lodge
Thamalakane River Lodge has a lovely setting on the river, just 20 kms from Maun, is a peaceful spot for an overnight before or after your safari. The Lodge truly embraces its riverside setting. Tranquil riverfront gardens are rich in succulents and a sculpted waterfall feature built into the bankside. With a range of comfortable room options, a restaurant and swimming pool, Thamalakane River Lodge is a good option for a night or two in Maun.
Oddballs’ Enclave
Oddballs’ Enclave is the smaller and more comfortable sister camp to neighbouring Oddballs. Amber River Camp is the sister camp to Camp Maru and will have the same tented, classic style and atmosphere. Amber River Camp will be situated 30 minutes by mokoro from Camp Maru and will open in 2020. Like Camp Maru, this camp will have only six tents for an exclusive, intimate experience.
DumaTau
DumaTau is a top luxury camp with a spectacular setting on the magnificent Osprey lagoon in the remote wilds of northern of Botswana. It has a prime location to experience the famous elephant mega herds and good all round game too. Following an extensive rebuild in 2020 Duma Tau has reopened as a premier luxury camp offering a sumptuous safari experience. The Osprey retreat features a wellness centre, gym and lap pool. African Guide Academy – Kwapa Camp

Delta Camp
One of the original Okavango camps, Delta Camp lies in the heart of the great Okavango Delta in a particularly scenic location. Camp Maru
If you are looking for old-world, authentic and pared down luxury evoking the first days of safari in the 1930s, Camp Maru captures that spirit. The camp has only six tents and a maximum of twelve guests and offers intimacy and exclusivity in classic, comfortable canvas tents shaded by a grove of magnificent leadwood trees. Camp Maru is located at the edge of a permanent lagoon is a magnet for bird and wildlife.
Little Pan Camp
Little Pan Camp is situated on an island in the Thamalakane River, just on the outskirts of Maun, the gateway to the Okavango. Declared as Okavango’s first botanical garden, this little gem of a tented camp is full of character and a tranquil start or end to any safari. A friendly atmosphere with great focus on hospitality, privacy and remarkable food.
Jao Camp
Jao Camp is a flagship Wilderness Premier Camp and is one of the Delta’s most luxurious camps. Set on the Jao concession in the north western Okavango, the camp is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery to be found anywhere in this pristine wilderness. Completely rebuilt in 2019, Jao returns as one of the most opulent camps in the Okavango with five suites and two villas. Each villas comes with its own private vehicle, guide, chef and butler.
Oddballs Camp
Deep in the Okavango Delta, on the edge of Chief’s Island, lies Oddballs Camp –a low-impact eco – lodge with views overlooking the magnificent Delta. Mapula Lodge
Mapula Lodge has one of the most beautiful Okavango settings, overlooking a glistening and lively lagoon. The game viewing, like the landscape, is varied and interesting. Mapula Lodge has had a series of management changes in recent years, it is no longer managed by Natural Selection. Until management plans have settled and we have undergone a site visit our sales of this camp have been paused.
Little Machaba Camp
Little Machaba Camp is the charming smaller sister camp to Machaba Camp, set in a scenic spot overlooking the Khwai River in the game lively Khwai concession in the east of the Okavango. This is a classic tented camp in the style of the traditional 1950’s safari, simple but sophisticated and extremely comfortable. A wonderful base from which to enjoy the excellent game viewing in the Khwai area.

The Great Plains collection of safari camps continues to grow with Okavango Explorers Camp, opened in July 2022. Okavango Explorers Camp redevelops the site of Motswiri camp, which closed in December 2019. One of the largest camps in the Okavango Delta, Moremi Crossing has been built on a palm fringed island overlooking Chief’s Island. While not as intimate as many camps, Moremi Crossing boasts a lovely location and is one of the most affordable camps in the Okavango. The focus here is on walking and water activities. No game drives are offered unless water levels are extremely low.
Okuti Camp
Okuti Camp is a delightful camp set alongside the Maunachira River which flows through Xakanaxa Lagoon within the world renowned Moremi Game Reserve, famous for the year round big game viewing. Okuti has a unique style, with 7 reed rooms set along the riverbank. Land and water activities are offered year-round, with morning and afternoon 4x4 game drives exploring this particularly pretty corner of the Moremi and boating along the peaceful waterways.
Leroo La Tau
Leroo La Tau (meaning “Lion’s Paw”) is a luxury lodge set on the cliffs overlooking the Boteti River, on the western boundary of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. The lodge offers wonderful views across the park and good game viewing can be enjoyed from the comfort of the lodge itself as animals come and go from the river. Leroo La Tau offers an interesting, contrasting, safari experience in combination with the Okavango.
Camp Xakanaxa
Boasting one of the finest locations in the Moremi, Xakanaxa Camp (pronounced Ka-ka-na-ka) lies on a pretty stretch of the reed fringed banks of the Khwai River, in the beating heart of the Okavango. This is prime game viewing area. Set on one of the few permanent channels of the Okavango, this is one of the few camps able to offer boating year round- as well as superb game viewing on 4x4 game drives.

Saguni Safari Lodge is a simple and affordable tented lodge set in the game rich eastern corner of Moremi, in the Khwai community concession. Gunn’s Camp
Gunn’s Camp has a splendid location on the banks of the Boro River, overlooking Chiefs Island and the Moremi Game Reserve. The camp is set under leafy palms and African Ebony and blends naturally with its unique surroundings. Gunn’s is a small traditional camp, simple and more affordable than most Okavango camps. The focus is on walking, boating and mokoro excursions. No game drives are offered unless water levels are extremely low.
Rra Dinare Camp
Rra Dinare Camp (meaning ‘Father Buffalo’) lies on a private concession adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve in the southeastern side of the Delta, an area with varied and exciting game viewing. Overlooking the Gomoti flood plains, Rra Dinare has a scenic setting which enjoys a steady stream of wildlife throughout the day. A traditional, unassuming but very comfortable camp offering some excellent game viewing with 4x4 drives and seasonal moroko activities.
Little Tubu
A small luxurious camp on game-rich Hunda island with only three tents: experiencing the Delta doesn’t get more intimate than Little Tubu. Set deep within the large 600kms private concession, Little Tubu offers varied landscapes and activities. Winding, wooden platforms create a treehouse atmosphere while the sleep-out deck offers the chance of an adventurous night beneath the stars.
Tubu Tree Camp
Built into the trees, Tubu Tree Camp has a charming tree-house atmosphere with a series of high wooden walkways connecting the rooms and main areas, with fabulous views of the floodplains. Tube Tree is situated on the famous Jao Reserve, along the western edge of Hundu Island which offers the best game viewing on the reserve. Muchenje Safari Lodge
Muchenje is a charming owner-run lodge perched on the edge of an escarpment in the Chobe Forest Reserve with superb views of the floodplains. Its main draw is the peaceful location, being on the quieter western side of Chobe National Park, a huge advantage over most kasane lodges. Muchenje is a simple and traditional lodge, a little gem, offering an affordable well located base to explore Chobe in peace with a good range of activities.

Ngoma Safari Lodge
Ngoma Safari Lodge is set within the peaceful Chobe Forest Reserve, just 3km from Chobe National Park – with its infinite views over Chobe’s seasonal floodplains. A sanctuary away from the Kasane crowds, this small luxury lodge bears witness to the prolific game found along Chobe’s riverfront from its rocky height along the escarpment. Ngoma Safari Lodge offers a range of activities including game drives within Chobe National Park, boat cruises and night drives within the Forest Reserve.
Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge
