This is the ultimate photographic safari in the Kalahari and Okavango Delta providing the opportunity to experience the delta by land and water. Ker & Downey Botswana’s private reserve at Dinaka and private Okavango concession at Kanana Camps allow for more flexible and exclusive activities, including bushman walks and night drives at Dinaka and guided walks, mokoro rides and night drives at Kanana. While Okuti Camp in the Xakanaxa area of the Moremi Game Reserve provides excellent access to this magnificent Game Reserve at the heart of the delta.
Throughout the trip, Harry will tailor his advice to each guest to help them master the practical aspects of photography through image reviews, scenario specific suggestions and one-on-one tuition if requested. However, more importantly, Harry will work together with guests to elevate their photographs to their full potential by exploring artistic and compositional approaches (and when to break them) to draw out each photographers’ personal style, helping guests to capture the wild beauty of their Okavango adventure perfectly. Photographic tuition will be personalised with no lectures and slides.

Once you have settled into your new rooms and after some light refreshments you will set off on your first 4×4 game drive, enjoying sundowners in the bushveld and returning back to camp for dinner.
Situated alongside the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, the focus of activities at Dinaka is exploring the Kalahari experience with wildlife ranging from giraffe to the antelope, small mammals like the honey badger, bat eared fox and porcupine to predators including the Kalahari lion, cheetah, leopard and brown hyena.
Activities include morning and afternoon game drives in open safari vehicles, with afternoon game drives often continuing into the evening. Alternatively, you may get more up close and personal with nature on foot with guided bush walks. Birding is particularly spectacular as Dinaka hosts over 200 different bird species including the Kori Bustard and Crimson Breasted Shrike and a high concentration of Pale Chanting Goshawks.
Year-round water holes result in spectacular photographic opportunities either from the vehicle, on foot or one of several hides/bunkers. The perfect contrast to a stay in the Okavango Delta.
A hidden jewel on the Xudum River, Kanana is located in the Okavango Delta. The area encompasses a necklace of islands dotted with palms, figs, ebony and knobthorn, and is home to a myriad of birds, plants and animals.
Okuti is a delightful camp that lies alongside the Maunachira River which flows through Xakanaxa Lagoon within the world renowned Moremi Game Reserve.
Dinaka Camp lies in an exclusive private reserve hugging the northern edge of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. This intimate camp offers a superb Kalahari experience, with game drives, bushman walks and a photographic hide.
